Two More of My Go-To Free Bible Study Tools
In the January issue, I highlighted four of my favorite online tools for Bible study. Here are two more.
1. www.BibleGateway.com Multiple Passage Look Up Feature.
Sometimes I find it helpful to see two or three passages at one time. For example, when I studied Luke 4:1-13 recently, I wanted to read the parallel accounts in the other gospels. This tool makes it easy to see the text together so I could compare and contrast easily.
2. www.BibleGateway.com Multiple Translations Feature.
On the same page as the multiple passage feature, you can also look up a passage in multiple translations. I use this one often to help identify where the various translations use different words. When I see these differences, I know I want to look the word up in the original language to better understand the nuance of the meaning and the implications for my interpretation of the text.
In the screen shot below, you can see the differences that I wanted to explore further. Doing so gave me new and deeper insights into this passage.
Try out these tools along with the four I mentioned in the January newsletter and let me know how you like them. I hope you find them as helpful as I do.
