Three Life-changing Aspects of Calling
My own recent experience has shown me three aspects of answering the call that have completely changed my life. Calling is relational, transformational, and decisive.

Calling is Relational
All calling is centered around relationship. The primary relationship is with God. However, our calling will also involve relationships with others as we seek to serve them or alongside them. (see Ephesians 4) The relationships forged in answering the call to begin this ministry have profoundly impacted my life with blessings.
Calling is Transformational
As we answer God’s call we are changed. When we answer the primary call to relationship with God through Christ we become a new creation. As we live out our calling to serve in the kingdom we are further transformed. As we serve out of how God created us (our personality, spiritual gifts, and talents) we develop more fully into the person, and the church, God created us to be. (see 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 and Ephesians 4:11-16)
Calling is Decisive
Once we hear and answer the call to relationship with Christ it decisively determines how we live. We no longer live for self but now live for the One who called us and transformed us. We won’t do that perfectly. We will stumble on our way forward. But we do move forward. Answering the call puts us on a decisively different path from the one we previously followed.
How these aspects change you for the better
What do these aspects mean for the one answering the call? It means when you answer the call your life will never be the same. You will begin embracing who you are and who you are becoming in Christ. Your life will be infused with significance as it never has before. So what are you waiting for? Answer His call!
